E-crete is a decorative concrete surfacing product that goes beyond
floor overlays by taking concrete finishes to a whole new level. Students
will learn some of the hottest looks using the latest in engineered
concrete technology for floors, walls, furniture and countertops. Learn
from the best instructors in the business as you create unique marketable
concrete finishes.
Saturday - Basic Application 101
This training program
is for anybody who has never worked with concrete or plaster. It includes
2 hours on Mixing E-Crete powder & admisxers, the window of working
time of the various mixes, mesureing & dosing polymers & how they work.
Two hours will also be spent showing the various methods of bonding
the varied surfaces & the way to use the self-flowing system. Then
you will spend 4 hours creating 3 finishes in standard colors that
you can use in your portfolio!
Sunday - Color Creation
Understanding color is one of the most difficult aspects of decoration,
and this course demystifies the various ways to create a color scheme.
We will spend 2 hours on integrating powder colorant into the E-Crete
trowel on overlay mix; the use of our 20 basic colors to create an
unlimited palette; and incorporating the pigment powders into the admix
polymers to make a tint base. Another 2 hours will explain the ways
in which we use our foundation coat overlay in relation to color &
transparency. One hour will cover the use of E-Crete urethane stain
- how to color it with universal tint, various application methods,
and incorporating mica powder into stain to get metallic & iridescent
effects. Then you will have 3 hours to use your newly acquired skills
to create 3 samples on 24" boards for your portfolio!
